Valentino was also one of the houses to present yesterday, during Paris Fashion Week Couture S/S 2013 and it was just beautiful!! Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli delivered a superb collection featuring lace, multicolored lace flowers, hand-painting organza and black guipure based on a 19th century Venetian pattern, all in whites, blacks and the house's signature reds. The essence of the collection was "contained in labyrinths, where nature meets architecture and science meets spiritual rebirth", reveled Piccioli. Interesting fact: On everyone's seat, the fashion duo enumerated the human cost of the dresses in the show.. per example, according to the notes, a outfit featuring layers of organza, embroidered butterflies and birds with tulle cage scrolled with crepe piping, took 500 hours of hand-rolling to produce the piping!!
